It’s summer, so here’s a recipe for ginger lemonade.
What you’re going to need:
Juicer of some sort
5-6 lemons (about 1 cup of fresh juice)
1-2 tbsp raw honey (you can always add more)
4 (or more) Frozen Dorot ginger cubes, or a knob of ginger about 1-1.5 inches, freshly peeled & pressed/grated
32 oz. sealable container
Filtered cold water
Optional
Fresh mint. I use a whole bundle but I am a very excessive person. When I like things I like them a lot. Do whatever your heart desires. Live your dreams.
Juice shots. I’ve used many different combinations of ginger, acerola cherry, turmeric, charcoal, and blue spirulina shots. I’ve found that the only thing that really changes in terms of the flavor is how tart or spicy it is with however much ginger you felt like using. If you really want to get wild use some
Apple Cider Vinegar. I’m not going to lie to you, the ACV is rough. Takes some getting used to. If you’re going to do this I would highly suggest and caution you to use 1 tbsp for the whole batch of lemonade and drink it through a straw. It’s very acidic and can damage your teeth.
A blender. It’s faster, but not necessary. The honey will eventually dissolve, especially if you make this overnight for the next day. The blender method was born purely out of impatience. I have no regrets.
Thanks for sharing. How do I make it?
Put the lemon juice, honey & ginger (plus other stuff if you desire) in the blender. Blend it until everything is well-combined. Pour into a large container & top with cold water. Shake until evenly distributed. If the blend floats to the top or to the bottom, it’s fine, just shake it up. It will settle properly after sitting in the fridge. This is best consumed within 2-3 days but will last about a week if you have a container with a tight seal. I use glass cream & milk bottles and they are perfect for this.
No blender:
Put the lemon juice, honey & ginger in a tightly sealed container. Shake it until most or all of the honey is dissolved. Top with cold water and shake well to combine. Admire your toned arms.
Cheers,
Happy Summer.
